Microsoft GlobalMLBuildingFootprints (github.com/microsoft/GlobalMLBuildingFootprints), CDLA Permissive 2.0. Building footprints from Microsoft's GlobalMLBuildingFootprints dataset (computer-vision-derived from satellite/aerial imagery, 2014-2024 coverage), tiled nationwide into z13 quadkeys by tools/fetch-ms-footprints.py. Buildings are counted for a city if their footprint's centroid falls inside a hand-picked rectangular bounding box approximating that city's built-up area -- not an official city-limit boundary. Roof area = footprint area x 1.083 (a flat 4/12-pitch estimate; real roofs vary by shape and pitch).
