Limits & fair use
There are limits in place so no single visitor or account can use far more of the instant quote tool than everyone else. The tool itself is free during early access.
Per-visitor limit
A single visitor can measure up to 20 addresses per hour. This resets every hour. If a visitor hits this limit, they see a message and a link to answer a few quick questions instead — measuring picks back up on its own once the hour resets.
Your monthly quote allowance
Each account gets 50 measured quotes a month, and you can get more any time — just ask us. This allowance resets every calendar month.
There is also a shared limit across every account running on RuufPro at once, to keep the whole system stable during early access.
What a homeowner sees when a limit is hit
Different limits show a homeowner different things:
- Your monthly quote allowance is used up. Instead of a fabricated price, the homeowner sees a message that your instant quotes are full for the month, and can still leave their name and email so you can call them back. No price is shown or emailed in this case.
- The per-visitor hourly limit is hit. The homeowner sees a short message and a link to answer a few quick questions instead of measuring.
- The whole product is briefly paused. On rare occasions the shared limit across every account is reached. The homeowner sees "Free tests are paused right now — check back soon," and can try again later.
