Reviews
After a job is done, Reviews sends your past customer a text with a link to leave you a Google review. The texts are sent by Twilio, the texting service we use. This is different from the customer reviews you type in by hand on your website — see Reviews, photos & FAQs for that.
Turning it on
- Open the Reviews tab in your dashboard.
- Check the business details we already filled in for you: business name, website, address, and email.
- Legal business name — your business's official registered name.
- Doing business as — only fill this in if you go by a different name than your legal one.
- Business type — choose LLC, Sole Proprietor, Corporation, or Nonprofit.
- EIN — skip if none.
- Your first and last name, title, and phone number — the person Twilio (the texting company) can reach with questions.
- About how many review texts a month — a rough guess is fine.
- How you get permission to text customers today — pick a signed paper job form, asking out loud, or a checkbox on your website.
- Picked a paper form? Add the opt-in evidence link — a public link showing how customers agree to be texted, like a photo or scan of your signed form.
- Picked asking out loud? Type in the opt-in script — what you actually say when you ask a customer if you can text them.
- Click Start my review service.
What happens next
A person at Twilio (the texting company) reviews your application. This usually takes about 3 business days. Texts cannot go out before your number is approved.
Sometimes Twilio asks for a change. If that happens, the Reviews tab shows what needs fixing. You can update your answers and send them again, then Twilio reviews it once more.
After approval
Once Twilio approves your number, the Reviews tab shows Approved! Setting up your texting number while we finish getting it ready. When it's ready, the tab shows Live — your review requests are ready to send.
Once approved, we'll walk you through adding your customers.
Good to know
- Twilio reviews every business separately, so your approval is yours alone.
- The legal wording about text messaging is already on your website's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages. You don't need to add anything yourself.
- A customer can reply STOP at any time to stop getting texts from you.
